Programs we Support

Grand Almoner

The board of the MFOB recently invited the Grand Almoner, to attend, and report to the Board on the Activities of the Grand Almoner to identify how we can assist him delivering services to the Brethren across Queensland.

What’s an AED?

MFOB provided over 130 AED Units, at a cost of $2500 to provide a CPR Unit for every
Masonic Centre under Freemasons Queensland. This enables the Lodges, and the users of their facilities access to these units in a medical emergency.

First Aid Training

MFOB is arranging training in first aid, to enable each lodge in Queensland, to have a trained and accredited First aid Officer in their lodge.

HHP - Hand Heart Pocket

HHP is Freemasons Queensland’s charity, who partner with other charities and
philanthropists to create positive change for people in need in Queensland and Papua New
Guinea, particularly young people. Their website is www.handheartpocket.org.au
HHP provide MFOB direct access to Uniting Care Queensland under the arrangement HHP
has with UCQ.

Uniting Care Queensland are the financial counselling service MFOB utilises to assist our members experiencing necessitous circumstances.

UGLQ - United Grand Lodge of Queensland

Through the generous donations and the purchase of Charity Jewels by members of the
United Grand Lodge of Queensland, MFoB provides Benevolence assistance to Queensland
Freemasons and their dependant immediate family members, in Necessitous
Circumstances or help with Disaster Relief who meet residency tests and ordinarily reside
in Queensland. These programs are not provided to the public.

Gentlemen - I Feel that I cannot thank you and the Masonic Brethren of my late husband sufficiently for the generous manner in which you have assisted me in my distress. The comfortable home you have furnished us with, and the trouble taken on our behalf, will be ever remembered by us.

Financial Planning assistance

Recently, MFOB engaged Uniting Care Queensland, as a third party, to assist the Brethren of Freemasons in Queensland, and PNG, to gain access to assistance with Financial Planning, or other essential services, to assist them to cope, in situations that have caused them distress, or hardship.

Something that can, as a bolt of lightening, affect us, or the Brethren and their Immediate Families in Queensland, so as to assist them recover and return to normal, following situations that they could not foresee, or plan for.

Our fund, under different names, and continuing from the 1860’s to now, have, and will continue, to engage with our lodges and members, to ensure the fund, “The Masonic Fund of Benevolence” is available to, and assisting those of our members, experiencing Necessitous Circumstances and in need of Immediate Disaster Relief.
